ES Cell Core Facility
This centralized facility has been set up for handling and manipulating mouse ES cells since late 80’s. The Core provides the users from SLRI laboratories with quality-controlled ES cells developed at SLRI as well as reagents necessary for the experiments. Currently R1 and G4 ES cells as well as Mouse Embryonic fibroblast (MEF) prepared from TgN (DR4) 1 Jae (http://jaxmice.jax.org/ stock # 003208) strain that are resistant to G418, puromycin, hygromycin, and 6-thioguanine are available for use in the facility.Tthe pool of ES cells and Mouse Embryonic Fibroblasts (MEF) used by the core has been MAP tested free of a range of mouse pathogens and Mycoplasma.
As of Jan 1, 2000, the services are provided on a cost recovery basis; the
user must submit grant number for monthly billing. The user is supplied with
the protocols (PDF download) for manipulating
ES cells.
